Pangaea Services, Inc., Lewes, Del., the maker of The Defender, is proud to announce a partnership with Alarmsoft, Virginia Beach, Va., a provider of software solutions for security and central station monitoring. Alarmsoft will provide the software and infrastructure for the central station monitoring service, allowing existing Alarmsoft customers to add The Defender as a service for their customers.
The Defender deters a prospective criminal with a complete system that includes a 24/7 monitoring service, mobile app, and Bluetooth-enabled multifunction device that is small enough to hang from your keychain. Here is how The Defender works: The Defender takes a photo of a suspected attacker, which is immediately transferred to the iOS and Android app via Bluetooth. A compact and loud siren attracts attention and the high-strength pepper spray leaves an attacker immobilized. All of this occurs simultaneously as a message is sent directly to monitoring agents that includes the photo and GPS location. Users control the information shared from within the app including a user profile with photo, medical conditions and any relevant safety concerns that users will want to share with authorities. In addition The Defender provides a medical alert function.
Chris Brackett, Alarmsoft’s general manager, said, “By partnering with Pangaea Services, we are able to offer our customers a new opportunity for revenue.” For home security companies interested in offering The Defender and everywhere security to their customers, Pangaea Services is offering a limited number of integration partnerships, as part of the up-coming IndieGogo crowdfunding campaign.
Integration partnerships allow home security providers to expand their business from home security to everywhere security with The Defender. “Internet-connected device are enhancing our lives in so many ways, and from the beginning, we have been focused on security and self-defense,” said Ryan McManus, Pangaea Service’s marketing director. “We are thrilled to have Alarmsoft as a partner and The Defender will make an excellent addition to every home security service, especially those that utilize Alarmsoft today,” he added.
