Stanley Security Canada announced the strategic acquisition of Quebec-based Le Groupe Intégral to expand and complement Stanley’s Microtec division, including its product and service offerings, capabilities and presence in the residential and small commercial business market.

“The business model that Intégral brings is a great fit for us and we are very happy to have them as part of the Stanley team to integrate their knowledge and programs across the country,” Piero Romani, vice president of Stanley Security Canada told Professional Security Canada.

Le Groupe Intégral specializes in the sale and service of security systems while also offering remote monitoring service for residential and commercial customers. While Intégral’s current presence is largely in Quebec, similar to Stanley’s Microtec division (the company it acquired in 2011, which helped Stanley get its footprint in the residential and small business market), Intégral brings a number of additional products and services that will be rolled into the expanded company’s residential and small commercial packages, including those in home automation and water protection, according to Romani.

He added that in the residential and small commercial business market, the company is seeing more importance placed on bundled services and managed service offerings as customer needs expand outside of traditional security systems.

“It’s less about the physical product and more about the types of services for this market,” Romani said. “Their needs have started to evolve to include product sets such as temperature control, power management through smart outlets, lighting, water detection and other life safety sensors.”

Going forward this year and through 2017, Stanley plans to continue to expand its footprint in the residential and small commercial business market organically throughout Ontario and into Vancouver and Calgary, though it doesn’t rule out a strategic acquisition if something comes along, Romani said.
