Founded in 1999, Advanced Wiring Solutions (AWS), an Alsip, Ill.-based low voltage systems/solutions provider, started with only Mike Sanfratello. Today, it has grown in its 20 years as a specialized resource offering extensive cabling solutions to hundreds of clients every year.

AWS began in the corner of Sanfratello’s living room back in 1999 in Oak Lawn. At the time, he had one major objective: become a premier low voltage contractor in the Chicagoland area, offering high levels of customer service while adhering to strict industry standards. Six months later, he hired his first employee, who is still with the company today — and the rest is history.

Today, AWS operates out of its own 10,000 square foot building and employs between 30-70 people every year. Together, its team of experts continues to service the Chicagoland area through structured cabling, telephony, audio/video, surveillance systems, intrusion alarms, area rescue, intercoms, access control and tenant entry. 

When asked what he is most proud of, Sanfratello said he is, “most proud of the team we have built here at AWS, as we have some employees that have been here for 20 years. I have not only witnessed the growth of our employees but how they have personally grown and built families along the way. This is all taking place because of the contributions they have made to the success of Advanced Wiring Solutions.”
