HID Global, a global provider of identity solutions, has acquired Arjo Systems SAS, a provider of physical and digital identity solutions for secure government ID applications. Arjo Systems gives HID Global broader capabilities to deploy electronic identification (eID) and ePassport solutions for government programs, the company reported. 

Eagle Eye Networks Inc. has acquired Panasonic Cloud Management Services Europe B.V. (PCMSEU), makers of Panasonic CameraManager and Panasonic Nubo. PCMSEU operated the largest number of cloud recorded cameras in Europe.

Camcloud has written a blogpost describing an upcoming demo planned for ESX. Camcloud says in the post that the VSaaS solution “revolutionizes how Hanwha Techwin cameras can be configured for the cloud,” allowing end users and dealers to deploy cloud cameras from the Camcloud mobile app and ensuring that all Hanwha Techwin cameras are auto-discovered on the network.

Synopsys Inc. released the results of the study “Medical Device Security: An Industry Under Attack and Unprepared to Defend,” which found that 67 percent of medical device manufacturers and 56 percent of healthcare delivery organizations (HDOs) believe an attack on a medical device built or in use by their organizations is likely to occur over the next 12 months. 

While no amount of security can guarantee against the possibility of an attack, major terrorist attacks around the world always serve as a clarion call, drawing people’s attention to security measures in their own towns, and many are increasingly beginning to turn their focus from indoors to outdoors and the perimeter surrounding the venues.
