D/A Central, founded in 1957 and now one of the oldest security systems integrators in the country, is celebrating 50 years in business by sponsoring the starting line at the 30th annual Crim Festival of Races, to be held on August 25, 2007 in Flint, Mich.
The race is known worldwide and benefits six different Flint charities including the Michigan Special Olympics, Big Brother/Big Sisters of Greater Flint, Fair Winds Girl Scouts, Shelter of Flint, Genesee County Literacy Coalition and the Crim Youth Development Program.

“Flint is our city and we are proud to be associated with such a prestigious event,” said Dave Shelton, president of D/A Central Inc. “We have been [in Flint] since 1984 and we wanted to give something back to the community that has given us so much.”

The Crim Festival of races was created as The Crim Road Race in 1977 by the former Speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives, Bobby Crim. The event includes two different road races, three different walks and various concerts and carnival rides.
