The Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) — formerly known as the Zigbee Alliance — has delayed the release of the first certifications for its smart home standard to the first half of 2022.
ONVIF, the standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, has published the Release Candidate for Profile D, a draft specification that covers interfaces for access control peripherals.
ONVIF hosted what it termed a successful networking event at the IFSEC 2011 trade show in Birmingham, England in May. The event drew approximately 80 integrators, end users, consultants and manufacturers who attended to hear about ONVIF’s success in promoting a global standard for the interface of IP security products.
ONVIF, a standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, is making expansion plans for the future, and those include the addition of physical access control to its specification and building on momentum that has gotten the three-year-old organization to more than 700 conformant products.
