Allied Universal, a security and facility services company ranked No. 56 on the SDM 100, announced the acquisition of Advent Systems Inc. — a low-voltage integrator of IP video, access control, structured cabling and audio/visual systems based in Elmhurst, Ill. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Early in 2017, the School of Information and Communication (FIC) was inaugurated at the University of the Republic of Uruguay (Udelar).
