SDM is pleased to announce that Rodney Bosch has joined the publication as senior editor. Bosch has been covering all facets of the electronic security industry as a trade journalist since 2006. Formerly, he spent 15 years with the Los Angeles Times, where he performed a wide assortment of editorial responsibilities, including feature and metro department assignments as well as content producing for latimes.com. Bosch is a graduate of California State University, Fresno with a degree in Mass Communication & Journalism.
As SDM Senior Editor, Bosch will write exclusive cover stories, such as SDM’s State of the Market series, as well as other feature-length articles. He also will head up the news section for both the emagazine and the website; and manage the annual Monitoring Today and Video Monitoring Today supplements.

With this addition, SDM magazine has reshuffled some other staffing duties.
Karyn Hodgson remains as Editor-in-Chief and Laura Mazzuca Toops will be SDM’s Content Editor. Toops will continue to write features, maintain the case study department, Technology at Work, as well as the Technology Solutions & Skills department. In addition she will manage the Project of the Year, the Digital Shuffle and Products departments, and write news stories.
“These changes will position SDM as an even stronger go-to source for news, industry trends and the in-depth coverage we are known for,” Hodgson said.
