Generational Equity, an M&A advisor for privately held businesses, announced the sale of its client, Carolina Custom Security & Sound, to Rely Technology Charleston. 

Carolina Custom Security & Sound, located in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., sells and installs alarm and video surveillance systems, custom A/V and smart home solutions. 

Rely was founded in Lexington, Ky., in 2008 by Josh Clark and Jon Fox, who grew it together for many years before Jon exited at the end of 2018 to pursue a career as a business coach. In 2019, Josh and his brother Jonathan, who had worked at Rely for several years, expanded by opening a second branch in Charleston, S.C., which Jonathan leads. 

Generational Equity Executive Managing Director David Fergusson, along with Paul Fackler, a Generational Group Authorized Affiliate, with the support of Vice President, M&A, Emil Nirkis, closed the transaction. Senior Managing Director Terry Stidham established the initial relationship with Carolina Custom Security & Sound. 

Terms of transaction, which was completed Oct. 11, were not disclosed.
