Dataminr and Genetec Aim to Transform Physical Security with AI Solutions

Dataminr, an AI company, engaged in a strategic collaboration with Genetec Inc., a global company in enterprise physical security software, to bring real-time, AI-powered event and risk intelligence into organizations’ physical security environments. The integrated solution is designed to empower security teams with the earliest possible warning of risks and safety events.
By unifying Dataminr’s AI platform, which delivers early warnings of emerging events and risks from public data, with Genetec’s physical security software, security teams are able to unify external risk signals with internal security controls, in one singular platform. This consolidated view of threats is designed to help security teams stay ahead of emerging risks with real-time situational awareness, contextual intelligence that reveals incident impacts and interdependencies, and automated workflows.
“Security teams are inundated with information from disparate systems, making it difficult to identify and respond quickly to genuine threats,” said Matt Harrell, chief partner officer, Dataminr. “Our collaboration with Genetec solves this by delivering the earliest possible indications of emerging risks directly into the platform security teams are already using. This real-time intelligence provides the context needed to make faster, more informed decisions, transforming security operations from reactive to proactive when every second counts.”
The integration works by directly feeding real-time event and risk intelligence from Dataminr Pulse for Corporate Security into Genetec Security Center. Dataminr’s AI platform analyzes multi-modal data from more than one million public sources — including images, audio, video, and text in 150+ languages across 220+ countries and territories — detecting high-impact events such as active assailants, severe weather, public safety disruptions, and other potential business continuity threats. This intelligence is distilled into geotagged alerts that integrate with the Genetec threat level management system. Automated workflows and standardized operating procedures can then trigger predefined responses based on incident type, automatically locking doors, sounding alarms, redirecting camera feeds, or other responses.
“Integrating Dataminr’s real-time AI-powered alerts into our unified security platform gives our customers a more complete and actionable view of their threat landscape,” said David Grey, director of strategic alliances, Genetec. “This collaboration empowers security operators to correlate external events with their internal security systems, resulting in a more efficient, proactive, and intelligent security operation that is better equipped to protect against the ever-evolving range of risks to an organization’s people, facilities, and business continuity.”
