Evolution Enters the U.S. Market With Three Decades of Critical Infrastructure Experience

Evolution (Electronic Security Systems), a European employee-owned electronic security and life safety systems integrator, has launched U.S. operations and appointed Shannon Ritchie as country manager — USA. The company will be based in Austin, Texas, serving organizations across North America.
Founded in 1996 and celebrating its 30th year in business, Evolution brings deep experience in environments where physical security must integrate with IT infrastructure and regulatory compliance frameworks. The company’s technology partnerships include Genetec (Certified Elite Partner), Gallagher Security (Outstanding European Channel Partner of the Year 2025), Axis Communications (Solution Gold Partner), Software House (Enterprise Integrator), Lenel S2, AMAG Technology, Milestone Systems, Hanwha Vision and Johnson Controls.
“The U.S. has always been part of our long-term growth strategy, and the time is right to make that move,” said Mark Corrigan, joint group managing director, Evolution. “We have clients who operate globally, and they’ve told us directly that they want Evolution’s approach available to them in the United States. Shannon brings exactly the right experience and relationships to establish us as a trusted partner in this market. We’re not arriving to compete on price — we’re here because our clients asked us to be.”
Ritchie brings more than 17 years of experience in the U.S. electronic security and life safety sector. He spent over 11 years at a global systems integrator, progressing from account executive to business development manager for the global cloud and data center vertical market team — a role that placed him at the intersection of physical security, critical infrastructure and enterprise IT. His technical background spans access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, fire alarm, mass notification and integrated security platforms across commercial, enterprise and critical infrastructure environments. He will operate from Austin, Texas, serving as Evolution’s direct point of contact for U.S. organizations from initial consultation through design, installation and long-term support.
“Evolution’s reputation for delivering complex, integrated security solutions for some of the most demanding environments in Europe made this an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” Ritchie said. “Their employee-owned model creates a culture where everyone is genuinely invested in client outcomes — that’s rare in our industry, and it’s exactly what U.S. organizations deserve from a security partner.”
Evolution’s U.S. operations will focus on organizations where security failure carries the highest consequences:
- Data Centers: Colocation, hyperscale and enterprise facilities requiring physical security integrated with logical access controls and cyber-physical convergence.
- Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences: Research, production and distribution facilities subject to FDA, DEA and GMP compliance requirements.
- Financial Services: Banks, trading floors and data processing centers subject to SOX, PCI DSS and GLBA
- Commercial Real Estate: Corporate headquarters, multi-tenant buildings and campus environments
- Critical Infrastructure: Energy, utilities, transportation and telecommunications.
- Defense & Government: Cleared facilities and sensitive environments requiring the highest levels of physical and procedural assurance.
