Purpose-built for exterior environments, SDS’s new outdoor technology extends the company’s proven gunshot detection capabilities beyond building interiors to provide earlier threat awareness across campuses, building perimeters, parking lots and other outdoor spaces.

The SDS outdoor system applies advanced machine-learning techniques to outdoor gunshot detection while leveraging SDS’s patented multi-factor sensing approach. By verifying firearm discharges through both acoustic signatures and infrared muzzle flash, the system is designed to deliver high-confidence alerts within seconds while reducing false alarms in complex outdoor environments.

With the addition of outdoor coverage, SDS now enables organizations to deploy a layered gunshot detection strategy spanning both indoor and outdoor environments.
