Kidde Commercial Introduces the Minilaser Smoke Detector for Single-Zone Installations

Kidde Commercial introduced the MiniLaser aspirating smoke detector, a compact, single-zone solution designed to address a critical gap in fire protection coverage. Building on ModuLaser technology, MiniLaser pairs advanced diagnostics and flexible configuration options to deliver a sensitive detection solution that is technician-friendly and cost-effective.
Because it is engineered specifically for a persistently underserved single-zone market, MiniLaser eliminates difficult trade-offs between cost, reliability and ease of use and delivers a solution designed to be easy for technicians to install and service.
Using laser-based, forward-scattering optical detection, MiniLaser identifies minute particles associated with incipient fires to accurately initiate early intervention. Integrated ClassiFire AI technology continuously adapts detection sensitivity based on environmental conditions, minimizing false positives and nuisance alarms while delivering reliable long-term performance in challenging environments.
To simplify and streamline commissioning, a DIP (dual in-line package) switch interface enables setup without tools or laptops, while front-accessible terminals allow faster wiring and live maintenance.
With support for pipe runs up to 400 feet and as many as 25 holes in its standard configurations, users can move from design to installation faster while maintaining flexibility. The PipeCAD software now supports MiniLaser when more complex designs are essential. Additionally, the secure quick-fit adapter system makes pipe connections fast and straightforward.
MiniLaser reduces lifecycle service disruptions and costs with a suite of features that enhance reliability and performance. The waste-gate airflow architecture and multi-layer internal dust filter keep the system clean, extend maintenance intervals and reduce maintenance needs and operational costs over the product’s lifetime.
