The 2004 Securing New Ground conference on October 13 and 14 will feature dozens of speakers on everything from biometrics to “Making Money in the Security Industry.”

Seven speakers, including SDM editorial director Bill Zalud, will speak on “Big Issues Facing the Electronic Security Field in 2005.” The presidents of three different companies – Viisage Technology Inc., Identix Inc., and Iridian Technologies Inc. and the vice president of Iridian Technologies – will each speak about “Biometrics Moving into the Mainstream.”

Presidents, vice presidents and partners of investment firms will speak on the subject of “Money Makes the World Go ‘Round.” Also speaking about profits are presidents and CEOs from companies including Westec InterActive Security and Convergint Technologies LLC.

The title of a block of presentations about video surveillance is “Two for the Price of One.” Big players from Honeywell, GE Infrastructure, Tyco Fire and Security, and Stanley Works will share “A View from the Top.”

The Security Industry Association is planning to address Homeland Security, particularly their role in driving product demand and initiatives.

A presentation titled, “Hot Emerging Markets In Homeland Security” will address the newest opportunities for the security industry. Last but not least, the latest ideas in security will be presented in three sessions, titled “New Technologies Equals New Business.”
