The ComPoint intercom system from Russound provides home and business owners with a full-featured communication system that can stand alone or work with most multiroom audio-video systems. Instead of an intercom with embedded speakers in the keypad, the system takes advantage of multiroom audio speakers so users don’t have to sacrifice sound quality for home communication and security. From any keypad, the system allows users to converse or to screen visitors to the home. An optional door strike release module sends a message to allow entry into the residence. Users can choose the “Do Not Disturb†mode for blocking messages to their zone, and instead listen to the multiroom audio uninterrupted. For added security, a single zone can be set to listen mode to broadcast throughout the system. The system consists of the ISK1 or ISK2 keypads networked to an IH1 Hub, which contains system functionality such as message routing and seven doorbell chimes. Two of the chimes can be assigned to different door stations for unique doorbell identification. The keypads and hub can be combined for up to 36 zones. Up to two ISK3 external door stations in three finishes can be combined with optional electric door strike release modules that work through third-party hardware for remote access control. Russound
