Securing New Ground (SNG)

New networking, revenue and funding opportunities will be found by security industry professionals at the 10th annual Securing New Ground (SNG) conference Nov. 16-17 at New York City’s Roosevelt Hotel.

Attendees at previous SNG conferences have called them “thought-provoking,” “right on target,” “a window into the security industry’s future,” “the best conference of its kind in the world” and “the only security industry event where you are certain to see all of the industry leaders.”

The 2005 conference’s keynote speaker will be Frank Lanza, chairman and CEO of L-3 Communications Corp., who will speak on “Leveraging Change.” In less than 10 years, Lanza guided L-3 Communications to become one of the nation’s leading defense contractors and now security systems integrator with more than $4 billion in sales and 70 acquisitions.

Presentations will include industry leaders, CEOs, chairmen and presidents in panels and solo programs presenting market research and new funding and revenue sources. Program subjects include linking physical and logical security, biometrics, RFID and network video.

Among those who should attend are security industry professionals responsible for profits, growth and new business development; bankers, lenders and investors in the security industry; companies seeking strategic alliances or new technology; government agencies responsible for Homeland Security buying; government security investors; companies considering entering the security industry; and security analysts and fund managers.

Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the 2005 “Security Industry Overview,” authored by Jeff Kessler, senior vice president of Lehman Brothers Inc. and SNG partner. (An $800 value)

Also included will be trend analysis from the SDM 100 and SDM Top Systems Integrators to help dealers, integrators and investors profit.

A link to an electronic publication with details on the conference is on the SDM home page at www.sdmmag.com.

Registration is $1,495 with group discounts available. Payment must be received by Nov. 11. For more information, visit www.securingnewground.com or phone (440) 286-4900.

Electronic House Expo West

Installing dealers and home systems and installing contractors will gather Nov. 7-11 at the convention center and Marriott Hotel in Anaheim, Calif., for the Electronic House Expo (EHX) Fall 2005.

Exhibiting will be manufacturers and distributors of electronic home solutions including audio, home theater, home networking and automation, security systems, HVAC, and wiring and cables.

Attendance is projected to top 8,500 and be 20 percent larger than EHX Fall 2004.

Tracks will center on networking and communications, comfort and control, marketing, operations and management and tech-style.

The EHX Wake Up Call breakfast will provide a look at the future of audio, video and gaming content and what is new and on the rise in protocols from technology licensers. The keynote presentation will feature systems integrators Brink’s, Tweeter and Audio Command Systems and show what they have in common.

The California Alarm Association (CAA) will sponsor a new Electronic Security Pavilion at EHX Fall, offer a half-day workshop on IP-enabled security in conjunction with the show and host an on-floor member reception.

CAA is increasing its participation due to the growing interest in electronic security products of EHX attendees. EHX Fall 2004 research shows strong percentages of the EHX attendee audience purchasing security products.
