Panasonic’s KX-TG2970B looks like a standard cordless telephone system. The phone features call waiting, caller ID and a built-in digital answering machine like many other products on the market. This telephone, however, can activate and deactivate an ADT security system from the system’s base or any of its portable handsets. In an emergency, the system can provide two-way direct communication to ADT. Upon receiving an alarm, an ADT representative can activate the speaker phone connections and communicate with users in the home. In the event of a blackout, ADT’s power supply will continue to power the telephone system, allowing users to contact emergency personnel if necessary. Panasonic
