ScanSource Security Distribution, Greenville, S.C., a value-added distributor of physical security products, announced it will offer Digital Security Controls (DSC) intrusion detection products to its line card. DSC, a business unit of Tyco Safety Products, manufactures control panels, motion detectors, glass break detectors, central station receivers, and wireless sensors and receivers.
While DSC does offer some of its products through several smaller distributors, the move, “exposes our brand to a whole new audience of systems integrators and the increasingly important converging IT marketplace,†said Bryan Watts, DSC channel manager.
In addition, ScanSource has added IQinVision’s IQeye Megapixel Network Camera product line to its line card. ScanSource Security’s reseller customers can access IQeye’s high-definition surveillance solution for their end-user customers.
The distributor also added Tropos Networks, Sunnyvale, Calif., to its line card. By integrating Tropos’ solutions into ScanSource Security’s product offering, resellers are able to convert their wired security solutions to wireless.
