Cooper Industries, Ltd., Houston, acquired Roam Secure of Arlington, Va., a privately held entity that provides text based alerting and regional mass notification systems. Their current installed base includes city, county, and regional municipalities throughout the United States, as well as a growing base of education, commercial, industrial, health care, and other campus environments.

“The combined acquisitions of Wheelock in 2006, MadahCom earlier this year, and now Roam Secure extends our Cooper Notification platform to provide a fully integrated and multi-layered approach to emergency mass notification,” said Cooper Industries Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Kirk Hachigian.

This is the thirteenth deal announced by Cooper in 2007 and is strongly aligned with the company’s disciplined three-tiered acquisition strategy: building out strategic platforms that strengthen the core businesses with complementary or adjacent products; adding more end-user specification and technology solutions to transition the product portfolio towards more value-added solutions for its customers; and enhancing the global footprint.

Roam Secure will become part of the Cooper Notification platform, reporting through Cooper Menvier. For more information, visitwww.cooperindustries.com.
