Video and data management and retention provider Intransa, San Jose, Calif., chose the perfect setting to launch its new retail-targeted IP storage VideoAppliance. At this year’s National Retail Federation (NRF) Loss Prevention Conference in Los Angeles, June 15-17, Intransa unveiled the VA100 and VA200 video surveillance-optimized appliances specifically targeted to retail and other high security environments.

Ready to go out of the box, the VA100 and VA200 come pre-loaded with the customer’s choice of video management software from five IP surveillance vendors: Exacq Technologies exacq vision, Genetec Omnicast, JDS Digital Security Systems Softsite32, Milestone Systems XProtect and On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc. (OnSSI) NetDVMS. Intransa VideoAppliances are the first application-specific platforms to preload and host video management software from all five of the leading IP surveillance vendors, representing the majority of open VMS software used in the security industry.

In addition to booth demonstrations at the NRF conference, Intransa’s new Web site, www.videoappliance.com, went live on Monday, June 15. The new site features continuous and highly-visual updates about the VideoAppliance products.

VideoAppliance products, which are distributed by Anixter, deliver high performance recording, extended playback capacity and are designed to be easy to install. For a new IP surveillance deployment, such as retail stores, installers set-up standard or megapixel IP cameras throughout the location as required and plug the VA100 or VA200 into the camera network. The installer enters basic system information and the user license key for the selected video management software into the appliance before recording. Installers do not need to size, acquire, install, configure, test and integrate commodity servers and storage with the VMS system.

In addition, Intransa VideoAppliance family products are designed to shrink energy consumption, heating and cooling, and the amount of required equipment and rack space consumed.

The Intransa VideoAppliance family is available through authorized Intransa StorPartner security integrators and dealers worldwide. In the United States and Canada, those include Checkpoint Systems, Inc., Convergint Technologies, Metro One Loss Prevention Services Group, SimplexGrinnell, Vector Security, Inc. and others.

Security integrators and dealers can obtain Intransa solutions through Anixter, who also offers each of the VMS choices available on Intransa VideoAppliance, for a complete, one stop solution for installers.
