Samsung Techwin America and GVI Security Solutions have partnered to provide optimal security solutions to customers of both companies. The get-together will ultimately lead to one product line and follows the Jan. 1 merger of Samsung Techwin and Samsung Electronics Video Security Products.

"The combination of Samsung Techwin and Samsung Electronics resources is in essence doubling the resources that Samsung is dedicating to electronic security,” said JW Ahn, president and CEO of Samsung Techwin America. “It will allow us to effectively increase the video security products business and technological capabilities of both companies into a stronger, singularly focused digital video security systems organization.”

According to Steve Walin, CEO of GVI, legacy product lines will be maintained until replacement technologies are developed and released, leading to a cohesive product line marketed under the Samsung name.

"This is very good news for our customers and the video surveillance market in the Americas." Walin said.
