Diebold Fire Detection Solutions and Services launched this week to provide fire detection hardware, software, monitoring and services to facilities nationwide. The new offering from North Canton, Ohio-based Diebold Inc. enables the company to deliver integrated fire and burglar protection to end users.

"Our customer base has been encouraging us to introduce these solutions and services,” said Bradley Stephenson, vice president, security solutions for Diebold. “They want to engage one partner for both burglary and fire.

“We believe fire is a critical element of a holistic approach to security, and now we can bring that element to our customers,” Stephenson added.

The cornerstone of Diebold’s Fire Detection Solutions and Services is its monitoring services. Diebold’s monitoring centers are Five-Diamond certified by the Central Station Alarm Association and are UL- and UL-C-listed.

In prepping the new offering, Diebold made a significant investment in training, certification and processes; its service and sales associates participated in training programs as required by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies. The company also developed training modules in concert with the Automatic Fire Alarm Association Inc., an industry organization focused on improving the quality, reliability and value of fire and life-safety systems.

“If you protect a building from being robbed, but you don’t protect it from being burned down, you’re missing a big piece,” Stephenson said. “We’re leveraging our more than 150 years in the security business, along with our experience integrating large, complex fire systems, to ensure our customers aren’t missing this critical component in the protection of their customers, employees and facilities.”
