Pelco Offers Maximum Value for IP Video Migration with New Megapixel HVRs

October 31, 2011

ISC Solutions booth 1001 - The newest additions to the Pelco by Schneider Electric, Clovis, Calif., lineup of video recording solutions arrived. Pelco hybrid video recorders were designed for customers who want to begin a step-by-step migration to megapixel video while still gaining maximum value from their existing analog video surveillance infrastructure, the company stated.

This is made possible with the introduction of the new DX4700 and DX4800 hybrid video recorders — the latest in the Pelco DX4000 Series of video management solutions.

“While we’re excited about the move to IP and megapixel imaging in our industry, the fact is there are thousands of installations out there with perfectly good analog cameras. Where it makes sense to begin a migration toward IP video, these new HVRs are a perfect fit,” said Yvonne Schwemmer, product marketing manager at Pelco by Schneider Electric.

Available with eight or 16 analog channels — plus support for two megapixel cameras — DX4700 and DX4800 offer a combination of power and performance in a cost-effective package for mid-range applications.

Both models record up to 30 images per second recording on all channels. DX4800 takes it further, with the ability to record full frame rate video at full 4CIF resolution for all cameras. With this kind of recording power, previous analog investments gain an extended life.

“Users can now enjoy the benefits of megapixel image detail where they need it most – to watch registers, cash counting operations, high-value merchandise areas or lobbies and entrances,” Schwemmer says, “while still getting maximum value from existing analog cameras and cabling.”

Installation costs are even further reduced with easy, out-of-the-box-ready recording. An intuitive interface makes custom installation easy and decreases learning time for end-users.
