Vicon Industries Inc. introduced two new H.264 network encoders, a 4-channel and 16-channel model, that convert analog camera inputs (both NTSC/EIA and PAL/CCIR) into streamed IP video data. When used as part of a ViconNet video management system, provided features include museum search that permits users to conduct quick analysis of recorded events, as well as dynamic load balancing and automatic detection. The encoder devices are easy to install and configure within ViconNet using an exclusive setup utility that enables quick assignment of an IP address. Full PTZ control, alarm reporting, picture quality configuration, external sensors, macros and alarm configurations are supported. The H.264 encoders are a solution for hybrid systems, allowing users to benefit from advanced features while maintaining use of analog cameras.
