Tyco Integrated Security Acquires Fire and Life Safety Business

Tyco Integrated Security (TycoIS), a business unit of Tyco, and Carter Brothers LLC announced that TycoIS acquired Carter Brothers’ Fire and Life Safety business. Carter Brothers will transfer the commercial security portion of its business to an affiliate of Carter Brothers.

The Carter Brothers Fire and Life Safety business sells, installs, services and maintains fire alarm systems across the country. The business is supported by ten branch offices across the United States. This business will be integrated into TycoIS.

“This is a great addition to our installation and services business in North America,” said Brian McDonald, chief operating officer of Tyco’s installation and services businesses worldwide. “Combining this acquisition with our extensive installed base allows TycoIS to broaden its service solutions and improve our customer offerings.”

Our Fire & Life Safety business is an excellent strategic fit with TycoIS. The business can leverage TycoIS’ scale and resources, such as their Centers of Excellence for installation and service.”
