Low-Cost IK-WD04A Mini-Dome IP Camera

November 28, 2012

Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products Group, Irvine, Calif., a business unit of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., aims to help security professionals cost-effectively replace outdated analog CCTV cameras with IP network video by introducing the new IK-WD04A, a 720p HD mini-dome camera that combines superior value and performance. It is well suited for high-definition (1280 x 800) indoor monitoring of retail shops, public spaces and businesses, the company said.

The IK-WD04A features a wide dynamic range to correct images in challenging backlight situations, an SD card slot to record images locally, and a Varifocal 3mm-12mm lens that allows technicians to adjust aperture on the fly. The lens provides 4x optical and 4x digital zoom capabilities on top of 24-deg. to 61-deg. horizontal and 15-deg. to 38-deg. vertical angles. Other image enhancements include Back Light Compensation, Auto Gain, Day/Night imaging (color cut), and an 1/5 - 1/32000 sec. electric shutter.
