Aaxeon Technologies announced the FCU-5002-SFP+, its first 10G unmanaged media converter. It offers two SFP+ ports, supports 3R optical signal regeneration and point-to-point fiber connection for long-distance deployment over 10 gigabit devices. The media converter complies with IEEE 802.3ae 10GBaseR and is compatible with Aaxeon’s FCU-Rack16 Series. SFP plug-and-play modules, sold separately, can reach distances of up to 40 km.
