The Security Industry Association, Silver Spring, Md., named four of its members as the winners of the Sandy Jones Volunteer of the Year Award. The recipients will be honored during an awards ceremony at ISC West, Las Vegas, on April 14, 2015. The Sandy Jones Volunteer of the Year Award is named in honor of Sandra Jones, principal of Sandra Jones and Company, a prolific SIA volunteer and co-founder of the executive conference Securing New Ground.
The honorees will be recognized at The Advance, SIA’s annual membership meeting, scheduled to take place on-site at ISC West at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Las Vegas.
The four recipients of the 2014 Sandy Jones Volunteer of the Year Award are:
- Frank De Fina, executive vice president at SightLogix, Princeton, N.J., for spearheading development of a two-year associate degree program in security in partnership with Mercer County Community College, West Windsor Township, N.J.
- Jim Crumbley, owner of Risk Response Team Inc., Lawrenceville, N.J., for shaping K-12 security best practices as vice chair of the SIA Partner Alliance for Safer Schools coalition.
- Frank Gasztonyi, chief technology officer of Mercury Security Corp., Long Beach, Calif., for leadership in technical standards development, particularly the Open Supervised Device Protocol.
- Rodger Schmidt, product trainer, ASSA ABLOY, Stockholm, Sweden, for development of online and instructor-led security project management courses and curriculum.
