ASIS 2015 to Step up Game
The ASIS International Annual Seminar and Exhibits has supported the growth of security professionals from vocation to profession. This year’s 61st Annual Seminar and Exhibits — Evolve 2 Advance (ASIS 2015) — will step up the game once again. It will run from September 28 through October 1 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. The colocation of (ISC)2 Security Congress with ASIS 2015 once again brings operational and information security professionals together to better understand each other’s roles across the enterprise, gain new insights and work together to mitigate risk in all its forms.
Keynote speakers will provide frontline perspectives on terrorism. Speakers include Raymond W. Kelly, former commissioner of the New York Police Department; General Michael Hayden, former director, Central Intelligence Agency and former director, National Security Agency; and General James Mattis, former commander of the United States Joint Forces Command. These speakers will offer invaluable insight into topics such as cyber security, counter terrorism, the global environment and the potential benefits and dangers associated with the cyber domain.
Integrators can choose among pre-seminar programs covering subjects from system engineering, facility security design and many others. Review programs for Certified Protection Professional, Professional Certified Investigator, and Physical Security Professional, ASIS’ three certifications, will also be offered. (ISC)2 will deliver a new program for the Certified System Engineer certifications (ICAM, PACS, and CSEIP).
Pre-seminar programming sessions will take place on Sunday. These specialized education sessions provide a deep dive into specialized practice areas from securing healthcare facilities to security management program development.
The lineup includes:
• Banking and financial pre-seminar
• Certified system engineer ICAM PACS, CSEIP: requirements for next generation physical access control systems in the federal market
• Developing a school security and safety plan for the next five years
• Media, money and the anti-establishment: using social media and open sources to locate assets of terrorists and opposition groups
• New frontiers: legal and operational principles for evaluating and managing emergent security technologies
• Reducing security vulnerability — mitigation strategies
• Securing healthcare facilities with future expectations, new programs and security officer implementation
• Security management program development: a critical infrastructure model
• Successful security consulting
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, more than 200 sessions will cover virtually all security topics. Integrator track sessions include “Become Your Own Video Forensic Expert With High Image Quality,” “Who Is the Integrator of the Future and How Are They Managing Today’s Projects?” “From Biometrics to Analytics — Using Advanced Solutions to Manage Risk” and “The Power of 360-Degree Surveillance.”
