On July 13, 2016, ESA’s National Training School (NTS) and the Louisiana Life Safety & Security Association chapter lost a dear friend and instructor, John Frederic. Frederic died unexpectedly leaving behind his teaching partner and wife of 53 years, Mary Ann.

Teaching was a hobby and passion for Frederic, who taught NTS classes for many years. He loved to share his knowledge with others and was dedicated to the NTS training program. In fact, he and Mary Ann taught a course the weekend before his death, and the feedback from attendees specifically praised the instructors.

Frederic truly cared about his students and wanted to ensure they grasped the concepts he was teaching. ESA released the following statement: “The ESA team extends our deepest condolences to Mary Ann and John’s family. We thank you for sharing him with us over the years and we pray the fond memories you have of him bring you peace and comfort. Rest in peace, John.”
