Building on the success of the previous eight years, the Mission 500 Security 5K/2K run/walk will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, with proceeds from the fundraiser to help children in need across the United States.

“The Mission 500 Security 5K/2K has been a mainstay at ISC West since 2010, and we are grateful for the support we’ve received since the inaugural event,” said Jeff Eichenlaub, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Mission 500. “The security industry has truly rallied around this meaningful cause, which gives participants the opportunity to raise money for children in need across the USA while having some fun in the process.”

Awards will be presented to race winners in various categories, as well as those who raise the most funds. Participants who succeed in raising $500 will automatically be enrolled in the 500 Club. As an added incentive, new members to the 500 Club will receive a stylish high-capacity, portable power bank for charging phones, tablets and most USB-devices. The top fundraiser will be awarded the opportunity to join Mission 500 (with a friend!) on the next Security Service Trip to Puerto Rico (all expenses paid). The company team that raises the most money, will also be awarded the opportunity to send two staff members on the Service Trip.

The Security 5K/2K Reception and Mission 500’s CSR and Humanitarian Awards Ceremony will take place at 5:00 p.m on Thursday, April 12th on the SSN Media stage, located on the second floor of the Sands Convention Center. In addition to recognizing top fundraisers, the awards ceremony will highlight Mission 500's achievements and set the stage for even bigger things to come. Organizing sponsors and the Mission 500 organization will also present awards to runners in different age categories and to the top runners.

The Security 5K/2K is a joint collaboration organized by United Publications, the publisher of Security Systems News, ISC Events and Mission 500. Confirmed charter sponsors are Alarm.com, Altronix Corporation, Avigilon, Axis Communications, Bosch, CMAC, COPS Monitoring, DITEK Corporation, DMP, Freeman, Galaxy Control Systems, HID Global, LRG Marketing Communications, MONI Smart Security, Milestone Systems, Safety Technology International, Inc., and ScanSource. The race is operated by Las Vegas Running Company, a race management company that stages approximately 25 road races each year across Southern Nevada.

In addition to participating in the Security 5K/2K, security industry professionals can support Mission 500 in a variety of ways, including volunteering at ISC West or through financial donations. All donations are tax-deductible and can be made with major credit cards.
