Monitor Controls Inc., a residential and commercial security company serving southern New England and eastern New York, will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2020.

Founded in Wallingford, Conn. in 1970 by John W. Yusza Jr. and his late wife Patricia, Monitor Controls remains a privately owned company run by Yusza Jr. and his children, John W. Yusza III and Deborah J. Sokol.

Established as an intrusion security company meeting the demands for residential and commercial clients, a major portion of the business today includes fire alarms, video surveillance and access control. The company operates out of its 5,300 square foot facility in Wallingford along with a nearby 1,200 square foot commercial condominium and storage facility.

“We have always been dedicated to our clientele and our industry as a whole,” Yusza Jr. said.

Offering a range fire and intrusion alarms, video surveillance systems and access control technology, Monitor Controls Inc specializes in the custom design of the systems they install.

“No two families are alike, and no two businesses are alike, that’s why we customize every system based upon the home or business space, and how the client intends to utilize the system,” Yusza III said.

This year, the company has some exciting plans to celebrate their anniversary. “We want to sincerely thank our clientele, team members, service providers and suppliers for the faith they have placed in the principles and beliefs of Monitor Controls Inc. and its management team over the last half century,” said Deborah J. Sokol, chief financial officer.
