Longtime alarm industry professional Patrick Egan announced the launch of a new venture providing business brokerage and consulting services to security alarm dealers nationwide. Egan Security Group will help owners grow their businesses through mergers and acquisitions, or sell their businesses. By providing a range of management consulting services as well, Egan and his team intend to be a resource.

“I love this industry, and I’m excited to bring everything I’ve learned throughout my career to the table and help the next generation of business owners,” Egan said.

With more than 50 years of experience in the security alarm industry, Egan has grown, acquired and sold multiple businesses. Throughout his career, he has also negotiated more than 200 successful transactions on his resume.

 “Buying or selling a business is an emotional process for everyone involved in the transaction,” Egan said. “Having a seasoned professional with experience owning and operating a security alarm business guiding the parties is advantageous to both the buyer and the seller.”

As the founder and CEO of Select Security, Egan built one of the largest independently-owned security system providers in the nation. He grew the businesses to more than 50,000 subscribers before it was acquired by Brinks Home Security in December 2020.

“Out of the active brokers working in the security brokerage industry today, I am one of the few that has actual experience being an owner/operator of an alarm business,” Egan said. “And, the only one with over 50 years of experience. That means I understand the dynamics and can create mutually-successful deals for both buyers and sellers.”

In addition to business brokerage services, Egan will offer consulting on a range of topics, including strategic planning, sales, finance and more.

“I want to help owners position their businesses for maximum success, whatever that looks like to them,” Egan said.
