The Open Security & Safety Alliance (OSSA), an industry body comprised of leaders, influencers and innovative organizations from all facets within the security, safety and building automation space, is celebrating its one year anniversary. Within its first 12 months, OSSA attracted 30+ members ranging from device manufacturers, software developers and system integrators to distributors and system on a chip (SoC) companies — helping lay the groundwork for improved security, safety, building automation and business intelligence solutions.

Louroe Electronics, a provider of audio monitoring technology in the security industry, celebrated its 40th anniversary in business yesterday, Sept. 16, with a special visit from Congressman Tony Cárdenas. 

DroneShield announced a partnership with BT Group, a provider of telecommunications solutions with operations in 180 countries, and the largest telecommunications company in the United Kingdom. 

Hikvision’s Miami office co-sponsored an event in partnership with nonprofit Mission 500 and other security industry leaders to support local students who attend the Title 1 Crosspointe Elementary School in Boynton Beach, Fla. Participants built and donated 700 backpacks filled with school supplies and other essential items.

Alarm New England, a provider in New England of home and business security systems, today announced the purchase of Security Engineering Incorporated. This acquisition further strengthens the company’s home security and business security service footprint in Massachusetts.

The Security Industry Association (SIA), the Latin American Security Association (ALAS) and the Canadian Security Association (CANASA) have formed a coalition to urge the U.S. congress to promptly approve the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), the renegotiation of NAFTA.
