 When digital dialer communicators became popular, NAPCO was one of the first manufacturers to integrate the digital dialer with a multi-zone control panel, and brought out the CCI6, which I believe was a four- or six-zone control with a built-in communicator. 

After determining that the switch only closes a circuit, and that the fireplace is in no way connected to AC power, a simple paper clip provided the closure needed to turn on the warmth. Later I replaced the defective switch and now I have my alternate heat pump rocking when needed.

In the past few years, I have become very particular about the pants I wear. Simply put, I have so much stuff that I carry around that I need pants with literally “deep pockets” and trust me, the problem isn’t that I have wads of cash.

Technology certainly has changed our lives. I remember family car trips in the 1960s when we had three kids fighting in the back seat while my father insisted that we make 350 miles between bathroom stops.

My recent visit to the ASIS show in Chicago demonstrated that my “18-year-old” brain just does not work the way it did when I was younger. Walking through the show, I saw a number of people that I’ve known in our industry for many years, but in many cases I could not remember their names.

When watching a football game, there is no more exciting play than when the losing team grabs victory with the last-ditch heave-ho pass that spans the field and results in the winning touchdown.
