HID Corp., Irvine, Calif., announced the winners of the company’s “BeSecure” promotion developed to educate ASIS trade show attendees about contactless smart cards and readers while providing an opportunity to win an iPod and make a contribution to charity in the process.

The promotion took place at the 51st annual ASIS International seminar and exhibits at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Each promotion participant was given a list of HID partners that either resold or integrated HID’s products, or were original equipment manufacturer (OEM) development partners.

The promotion directed the participants to HID partner booths to collect four different colored awareness wristbands inscribed with the words, “BeSecure.” When all four colored wristbands were collected, participants returned to HID’s booth to enter into a twice-daily drawing for an iPod.

In addition, the BeSecure promotion participants were able to select a charity in which HID would donate on their behalf. Recipients of the donations included the American Cancer Society, Hurricane Katrina Relief and the Special Olympics.

With the support of more than 68 HID development partner and reseller customers, HID distributed more than 4,000 “BeSecure” awareness wristbands, awarded six iPods and donated money to each charity on behalf of ASIS participants.
