MorphoAccess VP from MorphoTrak Inc., Alexandria, Va., took the top honor at the Security Industry Association’s 2012 New Product Showcase (NPS), winning the Best New Product Award at the NPS awards ceremony during ISC West in March. MorphoAccess VP is a physical access control reader that integrates multimodal finger vein and fingerprint biometric technology into a single sensor and device, thus reducing installation costs, while increasing security levels, according to SIA.

The Siqura BC620WDR from TKH Security Solutions, Germantown, Md., received the Judges’ Choice Award, which is given for the product or service that, in the opinion of the judges, deserves recognition for its unique approach to a security solution. The Siqura BC620WDR is a network box camera that provides superior performance and wide dynamic range under all lighting conditions, SIA stated.

“The NPS program recognizes products that meet a previously unmet need, and judges saw that in MorphoTrak Inc.’s MorphoAccess VP,” said SIA NPS Chair Jennifer Martin of Pixim. “It’s this kind of innovation that exemplifies what the New Product Showcase is all about.

“The Siqura BC620WDR from TKH Security Solutions, which won the Judges’ Choice Award, is a great example of bringing innovation to the marketplace,” Martin added.

In addition, awards were presented in 21 solution categories. The judges also presented five honorable mention awards.

“Once again, the companies competing in the New Product Showcase presented the kinds of leading-edge entries that are the hallmark of the program,” said SIA’s CEO, Don Erickson. “These new technologies and solutions are the drivers that are moving the security industry forward.”

Since its inception in 1979, SIA said, the NPS has been the security industry’s premier awards-based marketing program. This year’s NPS program had 70 entries.
