Sur-Gard added System 5 to its lineup of virtual receivers available globally. System 5 features visual verification support and is designed to significantly reduce incremental costs incurred by false alarms.

With a monitoring capacity of up to 1,474,560 IP communicators (cellular or Ethernet), System 5 is designed to cater to growing system requirements and IP account expansion, making it a perfect solution for any monitoring application, the company described.

System 5 supports visual verification via its compatibility with the DSC PowerSeries Neo platform. Working in concert with PIRs that are activated when an alarm is triggered, the System 5 receiver can instantly send still images to the monitoring facility for assessment and possible action by authorities, thus reducing the possibility of false alarms while also speeding the process in real alarm situations.

“In response to the demand for visual verification of alarms, Sur-Gard’s new SG-System 5 offers monitoring stations timely critical images which allow them to respond quickly and appropriately,” said Tim Myers, product line director, intrusion, for Tyco Security Products.

The compact, SG-System 5 offers fully “hot swappable” line cards and built-in diagnostics that proactively identify and report issues to the console software. Programming changes can be handled remotely or through a menu-driven touchscreen.
