Tool Simplifies Crimping Process

March 1, 2015

Fiber Optic Center Inc. (FOC) added the Greenlee Micro Crimper power crimp tool kit to their website. The tool kit is available in both 110V and 230V and comes with charger and carrying case. There are also two options for jaw size: the 12 mm jaw accepts Wezag, Panduit and Thomas & Betts crimp dies while the 13.8 mm jaw size accepts Paladin and Ideal dies. The kit is designed to deliver 65 percent faster crimping cycle than ratcheting tool and performs 250 crimps per cycle charge (when crimping 10AWG wire). Its trigger has PowerSense™ technology, a three step process of manual clamping — pulling of the trigger part way and adjusting material to ideal position before crimping; motorized crimping — depressing the trigger completely to activate the motorized crimp; and completion by simply releasing the trigger to open the jaws automatically.
