CPI Security plans to expand their corporate headquarters located in Charlotte, N.C. On August 7, 2015, Ken Gill, CPI Security president and CEO, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the commencement of the construction.

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory and Congressman Richard Hudson were among those giving remarks at the ceremony.

Choate Construction will build the 120,000 sq. ft. building that will feature the latest technological advancements and carry both a hurricane and blast resistant rating. The facility, designed by architect Steve Schmitt of Merriman Schmitt Architects Inc. will house training facilities, research and development, as well as CPI’s 5 Diamond, UL-listed central station that monitors alarm events. The building will be located next to its current headquarters on the 28-acre campus adjacent to I-485. The project is being managed by IHG Realty, and the company plans to register the facility for LEED certification.

CPI plans to hire an additional 300 employees over the next two years from the current base of 540. The facility will meet the company’s demand for additional space for growing personnel to maximize the experience for CPI customers.
