Following a recent trend spanning the last several years, attendance at ISC West, sponsored by the Security Industry Association (SIA), has once again broken new records. The 2016 edition of ISC West attracted the largest attendance and hosted the largest number and square feet of exhibits in the history of ISC West.

 

The ISC West exhibition floor saw a record almost 30,000 industry professionals and offered attendees the opportunity to learn about, test and discuss cutting-edge products and technologies from a record 1,072 exhibiting companies and brands. These results contributed to packed aisles and steady traffic to participating exhibitors. 

 

This year’s ISC also included the launch of  Connected Security Expo @ ISC West sponsored by SIA (CSE), which focused on building a holistic security strategy for the connected enterprise, including how physical and information security can be used together to mitigate new and emerging cyber threats in a hyper-connected world. The Expo offered a conference program, leading-edge exhibitors, dynamic keynotes addressing the future of cyber security and an Innovation Stage, offering attendees of both CSE and ISC West a number of free, innovative and informational sessions throughout the first two days of ISC West.

The 2016 SIA Education@ISC West conference, held April 5-7, offered ISC West attendees more than 65 sessions providing critical information security professionals need to stay on top of the trends impacting the security industry today. This year’s SIA Education@ISC program included 11 workshops covering topics such as Dealing with Active Shooters, Developing the Problem-Solving Mindset, Cyber Security, Critical Thinking for Security Professionals, Creating Fully Engaged Customers, and New-Age Selling.

 

The SIA New Product Showcase (NPS) saw 99 entries from 85 companies. In addition to honoring the Best New Product and the Judges' Choice Award, the NPS judges presented awards in 26 product and service categories, and also presented honorable mention awards in eight categories.

 

TIGER from LYNX TFG Ltd. won Best New Product at the NPS Awards Ceremony held April 6. Text Speak Design took the Judges’ Choice Award for its Text Speak Ear Bridge.

 

“The innovative products exhibited at ISC West and on display through the SIA New Product Showcase reflect the incredibly fast-growing IP-centric security industry. The compelling SIA Education@ISC conference sessions provided clear direction and insights to be immediately brought back and put into practice by end users and channel partners as a key part of their strategies,” said Don Erickson, CEO of SIA.

Held on the second day of ISC West, the seventh annual Security 5K/2K Run/Walk raised more than $95,000 to support Mission 500, an organization that supports children and communities in crisis.
