The security industry is in shock and mourning over the tragic death this week of Joseph Comunale, a sales associate at Tri-Ed Distribution Inc., with corporate headquarters in Woodbury, N.Y.  Comunale, the 26-year-old son of Tri-Ed’s president, Pat Comunale, was apparently the victim of homicide, according to news reports.

“Everybody that came in contact with this kid loved him. He was one of a kind,” Pat Comunale said about his son to ABC News reporters. “He was loved by everybody. He had hundreds of friends. He didn’t deserve this.”

According to Joseph Comunale’s LinkedIn profile, he had been working at Tri-Ed since May 2012.

“On behalf of the SDM staff, our hearts go out to the Comunale family. This is a tragic, unimaginable loss,” said SDM & SECURITY Publisher, Chris Ward.
