The OSM-CPI interface, developed by Cypress Integration Solutions enables security integrators and professionals to adopt the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP). OSDP is an IEC international communications standard developed by SIA to improve interoperability among access control and security products. The OSDP standard is beginning to replace Wiegand in access control settings. SIA recommends broad adoption of OSDP, especially for high-security settings. Installed inside the panel, the OSM-CPI is a dedicated OSDP-to-legacy Wiegand control panel interface that securely connects the panel with an OSDP reader. The CPI panel interface receives the OSDP reader’s credential data and converts it to Wiegand. Likewise, the CPI unit translates the panel’s LED and other I/O signals to their OSDP equivalents and sends them back to the reader. The entire exchange of data is securely encrypted, from the data received by the reader outside of the door, to the data received inside the panel.
