Based on feedback from members, CEDIA spent two years developing its new online learning portal. Visitors have a personalized dashboard with quick links to high-priority areas, including a “My CEDIA” area with a digital archive of that individual’s CEDIA activities and training, such as webinars, eCourses and learning videos offering short digestible insight on topics including HDMI, security systems and automation. Online training, resources and research has been expanded and a new company administrator function allows for easy management of employee records and transcripts.
Honeywell Security recruited Nashville-based band Telecommunicators to create an original song called “You’re My Heart.” The company worked with local Nashville talent to put together a music video that follows a young family during the holiday season, while sharing the capabilities of the Tuxedo Touch and Total Connect Remote Services. The entertaining holiday video can be viewed on YouTube, and the mp3 is free to download. Dealers can even use the video on their websites and social media channels.
One of the best-known online service communities, AngiesList.com, awarded a 2013 Angie’s List Super Service Award to Vector Security. The accolade reflects Vector Security’s Columbus, Ohio branch’s consistently high level of customer service. According to Angie’s List Founder Angie Hicks, approximately 5 percent of companies in the Columbus and Cincinnati markets that Vector Security competes with are able to earn a Super Service Award.
The redesigned SecurityCEU website has color-coded headers and simplified options, making it easier for visitors to navigate the plethora of information on the site. One tab takes visitors directly to SecurityCEU’s course catalog, which includes hundreds of hours of security-specific training. A sampling of courses on the homepage gives viewers a glimpse into the training offerings without ever clicking a button.
