John Ray III Elected President of Sonitrol National Dealers Association

The Sonitrol National Dealers Association has elected John Ray III, president and CEO of Sonitrol of Fort Lauderdale.

Based in Orlando, Fla., the association represents Sonitrol’s network of 60 dealers operating in 125 major markets across the country that distribute and service the company’s fully integrated verified electronic security solutions.

Under Ray’s leadership, SNDA will educate the public about verified alarm technology’s ability to enhance police officers’ safety, conserve law enforcement resources and increase the rate of arrest while crimes are underway.

Ray, who entered the electronic security industry with Sensormatic in 1990, was president of SNDA from 2012 to 2013 and had previously served as vice president and a regional director for the organization.
He purchased the Sonitrol of Fort Lauderdale franchise in 2001 and was awarded Franchise of the Year in 2006.

A licensed electrical alarm contractor, Ray is a member of the Alarm Association of Florida, the National Fire Protection Association and the Florida Crime Prevention Association.
