 The Central Station Alarm Association, Vienna, Va., announced that Steve Shapiro, vice president of industry relations for ADT, was appointed to the CSAA board of directors in October.  

 Intertech Security, Pittsburgh, announced it acquired Accent Electronic Systems Integrators Inc. (Accent ESI), a privately-held, certified system integration firm, headquartered in Bridgeville, Pa. “The acquisition combines two complementary companies and creates a bigger, more sophisticated systems integrator,” said Ron Petnuch, president of Intertech Security. 

 Mission 500, Miami, a non-profit initiative focusing on the security industry and dedicated to serving the needs of children and communities in crisis, continues to stage numerous events and promotions with security leaders around the world.   

 Eagle Eye, Austin, Texas, announced that it has signed on with Electronic Systems Inc.  

Potter Electric Signal Company LLC of St. Louis, announced it was a participant of the Missouri Children’s Burn Camp, run by Burns Recovered Support Group Inc., which has run the event since its inception in 1997.

The transaction was described by Chris Heath, principal of Mountain Acquisition, as a “perfect match of skill sets, culture and strategic vision that will allow the consolidated company to be greater than the sum of its parts.” MAC will move its administrative hub to Denver effective June 1, 2014 and will begin its integration of the two companies immediately.

Lucy Rivero, founder of Inalarm, directly challenged the audience to help them reach their milestone of 500 children while the dinner was taking place. Syscom committed to 20 more children, followed by Anixter committing to another 18 and TVC en Linea committing to another 20.

The acquisition of Amsafe Security Systems gives ASG the opportunity to add more infrastructure and create more internal sales in the Florida market, Ralph Masino, CFO of ASG Security, told SDM. Amsafe Security Systems’ customer base is approximately 50/50 business and residential.

Protectron will continue to be headquartered in Montreal under ADT’s ownership. The company enjoys strong brand awareness and ADT will continue using the Protectron name.
