Jim Callahan, CEO of Alert Protective Services of Chicago, announced the acquisition of Sure Security Services of Chicago, a 40-year-old security company.

Security integrators and end users in search of visitor management solutions have never had more choices; however, not all visitor management systems are created equal.

On Feb. 3, CBS 2 Chicago ran a lengthy investigative story about DEFENDERS, ADT’s largest authorized dealer. While multiple allegations were presented, the main argument was that DEFENDERS has “hundreds of frustrated customers who said they were duped, in some cases overpaying by thousands of dollars.”

Connect America, an independent provider of personal emergency response systems (PERS), has acquired Tunstall Americas, a provider of connected health services. 

ADT Inc., a provider of monitored security and interactive home and business automation solutions in the United States and Canada, today announced that P. Gray Finney, senior vice president and chief legal officer, will be retiring. As his successor, David Smail has been named executive vice president and chief legal officer, reporting to ADT President and Chief Executive Officer Jim DeVries, based in Boca Raton, Fla. His appointment is effective immediately.

Bold Perennial has formally changed its name to Bold Group in the wake of the recent acquisitions of SIMS Inc. and SGS. The new moniker was announced last week to attendees of the SedonaOffice Users Conference in Marco Island, Fla. 

Control4 Corporation, a global provider of smart home solutions, today announced the acquisition of Switzerland-based NEEO, the creators of the smart home remote, to accelerate its leadership in delivering remotes, touch panels, keypads and other smart home devices.

While many companies feature a corporate blog on their websites, they often only post something monthly or bi-monthly — hardly enough to keep a customer checking back for more.
