The place” to be January 7-10, 2014 is Las Vegas at the International CES show. There’s a lot happening in consumer electronics and if you and/or your company does installation and home technologies integration, you should attend the show or at least follow the big news and happenings.

There’s opportunity out there, and it’s just a doorknob away. Access control has gone main stream, it’s no longer just for commercial buildings and businesses.

You’ve already installed numerous electronic systems for your customers, why not leverage those audio/visual (A/V), security and control networks? Here are some suggestions, in no particular order, that might ‘tickle your fancy,’ delight your customers and make you more money.

Everyone is outdoors grilling, swimming, playing, relaxing and hanging out with family and friends. It’s time for you to be the “cool” dealer and provide them new technologies that will make them happy outside.

The times, they are a changing. Gone are the days of simple security when sounding a horn warned people inside of possible intrusion by unwanted burglars, or unsafe environmental conditions and notification went out to a central station. This has been upgraded with advanced technology, integration and mobile apps.

Technology has come a long way from the early days of home automation 25+ years ago. Back then people were no different than they are today; eager to go with a new idea that will save money.
